WINES IN BALANCE…
About Mascarin Wines
Mascarin Family Wines was born from the passion and heritage of owner Ed Mascarin, whose journey brought him full circle back to the world of wine and the vineyards of his upbringing. Hailing from a farming community in Central California, Ed, the third generation of vineyard managers in his Italian family, and his daughter Mia, have transformed their vision into the production of exceptional wines in Sonoma County. The Mascarin family’s narrative unfolds to the present day, where the dedication to producing wines in balance with nature guarantees a legacy of world-class wines for generations to come.
Limited Production Wines
The Mascarin Wines are defined by the innovative viticulture techniques, utilized by Matt Taylor. Each of the 3 Mascarin wines – the Chardonnay, the Red Field Blend, and the Whole Cluster Pinot Noir – has its unique story, from their vine development to the vinification. The finished wine has Matt’s signature style – balanced acidity that brings out the best of the grapes, speaking to the terroir within which they were grown. The symbol on the label is a graphical representation of the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Ratio, a symbol of the geometry of life, ideal proportion, and the propagation of nature.
Our Winemaker
Matt Taylor, a third-generation Sonoma County native, passionately draws inspiration from the Sonoma Coast AVA, leveraging his diverse winemaking experiences from Joseph Swan Vineyards to Bart & Daphne Araujo. Committed to old-world biodynamic farming, he envisions Grand Cru vineyard sites in western Sonoma County, crafting natural wines that earned him recognition as the sole California producer at the prestigious “La Dive Bouteille” natural wine expo in the Loire Valley, France, in 2019 and 2020.
Our Sourcing
We exclusively source from two premium Sonoma County Vineyard sites. Dalya Estate Vineyard, nestled in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast, stands out in California’s wine scene, with a prime location ideal for cultivating premium Chardonnay grapes on its 2-acre boutique vineyard. Committed to sustainability, this gem combines limited size with organic practices for extraordinary quality.
The Angelo’s Vineyard, our estate vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley, story began five years ago, cultivating Syrah vines with innovation. Winemaker Matt, inspired by the Loire Valley, selected cuttings for the Dry Creek Valley terroir. The culmination resulted in a unique field blend of varietals, a living tribute to the spirit of old-world and new-world viticulture and heritage, embodying the spirit of innovation and tradition in Sonoma County’s sustainable winemaking.
